Sensex drop on global sell-off, Nifty down by 72.80 pts

<p>Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Aug 13 (ANI): BSE Sensex opened lower on Monday at 37,626.95, down by 242.28. While NSE's Nifty 50 hovered around 11,356.70, down by 72.80 points.</p><p>Along with auto, energy and metal names, banks continued to be weak.</p><p>Meanwhile, the Indian rupee opened at a low today of 69.47 against the US dollar.</p><p>On July 30, the market saw a significant high as the BSE Sensex crossed the 37,000 mark.
