7th Pay Commission: Hike in minimum pay, fitment factor for over 50 lakh Central Government employees?

<strong>7th Pay Commission:</strong> In a good news for over 50 lakh Central Government employees, the government is likely to hike the salaries. The employees are likely to experience a spike in the minimum pay and the fitment factor beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations. As per the report by India.com, if the demands by the Central Government employees is accepted by the Centre, the minimum payment would be increased from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. Also, the fitment factor would see a rise of 3.68 percent. As per the report, on Independence Day (August 15) this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to announce an increase for Central Government employees in fitment factor and minimum pay beyond the recommendations of 7th CPC or 7th Central Pay Commission. Further, the report suggests that approximately 48.41 lakh central government employees and around 61 lakh pensioners may get a hike in the dearness allowance (DA). However, there is no official confirmation on the same as to when this will happen.
